5:2 for ye youre selves knowe parfectly/ that the daye of the lorde shall come even as a thefe in the nyght. for ye youre selves knowe parfectly/ that the daye of the Lorde shall come even as a thefe in the nyght. for ye youre selues knowe parfectly/ that the daye of the Lorde shall come euen as a thefe in the nyght. For ye youre selues knowe perfectly, that the daye of the LORDE shal come euen as a thefe in the nighte.
5:3 Whē they shall saye peace and no daunger/ then commeth on thē soden destruccion/ as the travalynge off a woman with childe/ and they shall nott scape. When they shall saye peace and no daunger/ than commeth on the soden destruccion/ as the travalynge of a womā with childe/ & they shall not scape. When they shall saye peace and no daunger then commeth on them soden destruccion/ as the traualynge of a woman with chylde/ and they shall not scape. For whan they shal saye: Tush, It is peace, there is no daunger, then shall soden destruccion come vpō thē, euen as the payne of a woman trauaylinge with childe, and they shal not escape.
5:4 But ye brethren are not in darcknes/ that that daye shulde come on you as it were a thefe. But ye brethrē are not in darcknes/ that yt daye shuld come on you as it were a thefe. Ye are alltogether children of lighte, and children of the daye. We are not of the night, nether of darknesse.
5:6 Therfore let vs not slepe as do wother: but let vs watch and be sober. Therfore let vs not slepe as do other: but let vs watch and be sober. Therfore let vs not slepe as do other: but let vs watch and be sober. Therfore let vs not slepe as do other, but let vs watch, and be sober.
5:7 For they that slepe/ slepe in the nyght: ād they that be dronken/ are dronken in the nyght. For they that slepe slepe in the nyght: and they that be dronken/ are dronken in the nyght. For they that slepe slepe in the nyght: and they that be droncken/ are droncken in the nyght. For they that slepe, slepe in the nighte: and they that be dronken, are dronken in the nighte.
5:8 But lett vs which are of the daye be sober/ armed with the brest plate of fayth and love/ ād with hope of health/ as an helmet. 2:11 as ye knowe howe that we exhorted and comforted/ and besought every one off you/ as a father his children/ as ye knowe how that we exhorted and comforted and besought every one of you/ as a father his childrē/ as ye knowe how that we exhorted and comforted and besought euery one of you/ as a father his chyldren/ as ye knowe, how that as a father his children, euen so exhorted we and comforted and besoughte euery one of you,
2:12 that ye wolde walke worthy of the lorde/ which hath called you vnto his kyngdom and glory. that ye wolde walke worthy of God/ which hath called you vnto his kyngdome and glory. that ye wolde walke worthy of God/ which hath called you vnto his kyngdome and glory. that ye wolde walke worthely before God, which hath called you vnto his kyngdome & glory.
2:13 For this cause thanke we god with out ceasynge/ be cause that whē ye receaved of vs the worde/ wherwith God was preached/ ye receaved it not as the worde of man: but even as it was in dede/ the worde of God/ which worketh in you that beleve. For this cause thanke we god with out ceasynge/ because that when ye receaved of vs the worde wherwith God was preached/ ye receaved it not as the worde of man: but even as it was in dede/ the worde of God/ which worketh in you that beleve. For this cause thanke we God with out ceasynge/ because that when ye receaued of vs the worde wherwith God was preached/ ye receaued it not as the worde of man: but euen as it was in dede/ the worde of God/ which worketh in you that beleue. For this cause thanke we God without ceassynge, because that whā ye receaued of vs the worde of the preachinge of God, ye receaued it not as ye worde of men, but (euē as it is of a trueth) the worde of God, which worketh in you that beleue.
2:14 For ye brethrē did counterfaite the congregacions of god which in iewey are in Christ Iesu: for ye have suffered lyke thyngſ of youre kynsmen/ as we oure selves have suffered of the Iewes/ For ye brethrē became folowers of the congregacions of god which in Iewry are in Christ Iesu: for ye have suffered lyke thynges of youre kynsmen as we oure selves have suffered of the Iewes. For ye brethren became folowers of the congregacions of God which in Iewry are in Christ Iesu: for ye haue suffered lyke thinges of youre kynsmen/ as we oure selues haue suffered of the Iewes. For ye brethren are become the folowers off the congregacions off God which in Iewry are in Christ Iesu, so that ye haue suffred euen like thinges of youre kynsmen, as they haue suffred of the Iewes.
2:15 which as they kylled the lorde Iesus and their one prophetſ/ even so have they persecuted vs/ and God they please not/ and are contrary to all men: Which as they kylled the lorde Iesus & their awne prophetes/ even so have they persecuted vs/ and God they please not/ & are contrary to all men Which as they kylled the Lorde Iesus & their awne Prophetes/ euen so haue they persecuted vs/ and God they please not/ and are contrary to all men Which as they put the LORDE Iesus to death, and their awne prophetes, euen so haue they persecuted vs also, and please not God, and are cōtrary to all men,
2:16 and forbid vs to preache vnto the gentyls/ that they myght be saved/ to fulfill their synnes: For the wrath off God is come on them/ even to the vtmost. and forbid vs to preache vnto the gentyls/ that they myght besaved/ to fulfill their synnes all waye. For the wrath of God is come on them/ even to the vtmost. and forbyd vs to preache vnto the Gentyls/ that they myght be saued/ to fulfill their synnes all waye. For the wrath of God is come on them/ euen to the vtmost. forbyddinge vs to speake vnto the Heythen that they mighte be saued, to fulfill their synnes allwaye: for the wrath is come vpon them allready vnto ye vttemost.
2:17 For as moch brethren as we are kept from you for a season/ as concernynge the bodyly presence but not ī the herte/ we enforsed the more to se you personally with great desire/ For as moch brethren as we are kept from you for a season/ as concernynge the bodyly presence/ but not in the herte/ we enforsed the more to se you personally with great desire. For as moch brethren as we are kept from you for a season/ as concernynge the bodyly presence/ but not in the herte/ we enforsed the more to se you personally with great desyre. But we (brethren) for as moch as we haue bene kepte from you for a season, as concernynge the bodely presence, but not in the hert, we haue haisted the more with greate desyre to se you personally.
2:18 and therfore we wolde have come vnto you/ I Paul once and agayne: but Satan withstode vs. And therfore we wolde have come vnto you/ I paul once and agayne: but Satan with stode vs. And therfore we wolde haue come vnto you/ I paul once and agayne: but Satan withstode vs. Therfore wolde we haue come vnto you, (I Paul) two tymes, but Sathan withstode vs.
2:19 For what is oure hope or ioye/ or croune off reioysynge? are not ye in the presence off oure lorde Iesus Christ at his commynge? For what is oure hope or ioye/ or croune of reioysynge? are not ye it in the presence of oure lorde Iesus Christ at his cōmynge? For what is oure hope or ioye/ or croune of reioysynge? are not ye it in the presence of oure Lorde Iesus Christ at his commynge? For who is oure hope, or ioye, or crowne of reioysinge? are not ye it in ye sighte of oure LORDE Iesus Christ at his commynge?
2:20 yes ye are oure glory and ioye. yes ye are oure glory and ioye. yes ye are oure glory and ioye. Yes ye are oure prayse and ioye.
