15:1 THē resorted vnto hī all the publicās ād synners/ for to heare hī. THen resorted vnto him all ye publicās and synners/ for to heare him. THen resorted vnto him all the publicās and synners/ for to heare him. THere resorted vnto him all the publicans and synners, that they might heare him.
15:2 And the pharises/ ād scribes grudged saīge: He receaveth to his cōpany synners/ ād eatet with thē. And the pharises & scribes murmured sayinge: He receaved to his cōpany synners/ & eateth with them. And the Pharises and Scribes murmured sayinge: He receaued to his cōpany synners/ and eateth with them. And ye Pharises and scrybes murmured, and sayde: This man receaueth synners, and eateth with them.
15:3 Thē put he forthe this similitude to thē sayinge: Then put he forthe this similitude to thē sayinge: Then put he forthe this similitude to them sayinge: But he tolde thē this symilitude, and sayde:
15:4 What man of you havynge an hundred shepe/ if he loose one of thē doth not leave nynty and nyne in the wildernes/ and goo after hym which is loost/ vntill he fynde hym? What man of you havynge an hundred shepe/ yf he loose one of thē/ doth not leve nynty & nyne in the wyldernes/ & goo after yt which is loost/ vntyll he fynde him? What man of you hauynge an hundred shepe/ yf he loose one of them/ doth not leue nynty and nyne in the wildernes/ and go after that which is loost vntyll he fynde him? What man is he amonge you, that hath an hundreth shepe, and yf he loose one of thē, that leaueth not the nyne and nyentye in the wyldernesse, and goeth after that which is lost tyll he fynde it?
15:5 And when he had founde hym/ he putteth hym on his shulders with ioye: And whē he hath founde him/ he putteth him on his shulders with ioye: And when he hath founde him/ he putteth him on his shulders with ioye: And whan he hath founde it, he layeth it vpon his shulders with ioye:
15:6 And as sone as he cōmeth home he calleth to gedder his lovers/ and neghbours sayinge vnto them: roioyse with me/ for I have foūde my shepe which was loost. And assone as he cometh home/ he calleth to gedder his lovers & neghbours sayinge vnto them: reioyse with me/ for I have founde my shepe which was loost. And assone as he cometh home/ he calleth to geder his louers and neghbours sayinge vnto them: reioyse with me for I haue founde my shepe which was loost. and whan he commeth home, he calleth his frēdes and neghbours, and sayeth vnto thē: Reioyce with me, for I haue founde my shepe, yt was lost.
15:7 I say vnto you/ that lyke wyse ioye shalbe ī hevē over one synner that repenteth/ moore then over nynety and nyne iuste persons/ whiche nede noo repentaunce. I say vnto you/ yt lyke wyse ioye shalbe in heven over one synner yt repenteth/ moore then over nynety & nyne iuste persons/ whiche nede noo repentaūce. I say vnto you/ that lyke wyse ioye shalbe in heuen ouer one synner that repenteth/ moore then ouer nynty and nyne iuste persons whiche nede no repentaunce. I saye vnto you: Euē so shal there be ioye in heauen ouer one synner that doth pennaunce, more then ouer nyne and nyentye righteous, which nede not repentaunce.
15:8 Other what woman havynge .x. grotes/ if she loose won/ doth not light a candell/ ād swepe the housse/ ād seke diligētly/ till she finde it? Ether what woman havynge .x. grotes/ yf she loose one/ doth not lyght a candell/ & swepe ye housse/ & seke diligently/ tyll she fynde it? Ether what woman hauynge .x. grotes/ yf she loose one/ doth not lyght a candell/ and swepe the housse/ and seke diligently tyll she fynde it? Or what woman is it that hath ten grotes, yf she loose one of them, that lighteth not a candell, and swepeth the house, and seketh diligently, tyll she fynde it?
15:9 And whē she hath founde it she calleth her lovers/ ād her neghbours saynge: Reioyse with me/ for I have founde the groate which I had loost. And when she hath founde it she calleth her lovers & her neghbours sayinge: Reioyce wt me/ for I have founde the groate which I had loost. And when she hath founde it she calleth her lovers and her neghbours sayinge: Reioyce with me/ for I haue founde the groate which I had loost. And whan she hath founde it, she calleth hir frendes & neghbouresses, and sayeth: Reioyce with me, for I haue foūde my grote, which I had lost.
15:10 Lykwyse I saye vnto you/ ioye shalbe ī the presence off the angels off God over one synner that repentheth. Lykwyse I saye vnto you/ ioye is made in ye presence of ye angels of god over one synner yt repenteth. Lykewyse I saye vnto you/ ioye is made in the presence of the angels of God ouer one synner that repenteth. Euen so (I tell you) shal there be ioye before the angels of God, ouer one synner yt doth pennaunce.
15:11 And he sayde: a certayne mā had two sonnes/ And he sayde: a certayne man had two sonnes/ And he sayde: a certayne man had two sonnes/ And he sayde: A certayne man had two sonnes,
15:12 and the yonger of thē sayde to his father: father geve me my parte off the goodes that to me belongeth. And he devided vnto them his substaunce. & the yonger of them sayde to his father: father geve me my parte of the goodes yt to me belongeth. And he devided vnto them his substaunce. and the yonger of them sayde to his father: father geue me my parte of the goodes that to me belongeth. And he deuided vnto them his substance. and the yonger of them sayde vnto the father: Father, geue me the porcion of ye goodes, that belongeth vnto me. And he deuyded the good vnto them.
15:13 And not longe after/ the yōger sonne gaddered all that he had to gedder/ and toke his iorney into a farre countre/ and there he wasted his goodes with royetous livinge. And not longe after/ ye yonger sonne gaddered all that he had to gedder/ & toke his iorney into a farre countre/ & theare he wasted his goodes with royetous lyvinge. And not longe after/ the yonger sonne gaddered all that he had to geder/ and toke his iorney into a farre countre/ and theare he wasted his goodes with royetous lyuinge. And not longe therafter, gathered the yonger sonne all together, & toke his iourney in to a farre countre, and there waisted he his goodes with ryotous lyuynge.
15:14 And when he had spēt all that he had/ there rose a greate derth thorow out all that same londe. And he began to lacke. And when he had spent all that he had/ ther rose a greate derth thorow out all yt same londe/ & he began to lacke. And when he had spēt all that he had/ ther arose a greate derth thorow out all that same londe/ and he began to lacke. Now whan he had spent all that he had, there was a greate derth thorow out all the same lōde. And he begāne to lacke,
15:15 And he went/ ād clave to a citesyn of that same countre: which sent hym to the felde/ to kepe his swyne. 15:16 And he wold fayne have filled his bely with the coddes/ that the swyne ate: ād noo man gave hym. And he wold fayne have filled his bely with the coddes that ye swyne ate: & noo man gave him. And he wold fayne haue fylled his bely with the coddes that the swyne ate: and no man gaue him. And he wolde fayne haue fylled his bely with the coddes, that the swyne ate. And noman gaue him them.
15:17 Thē he remembred hym silfe and sayde: howe many hyred servauntſ at my fathers have breed ynough/ and I dye for honger. Then he came to him selfe and sayde: how many hyred servauntes at my fathers/ have breed ynough/ & I dye for honger. Then he came to him selfe and sayde: how many hyred seruauntes at my fathers/ haue breed ynough/ & I dye for honger. Then came he to him self, and sayde: How many hyred seruauntes hath my father, which haue bred ynough, and I perish of honger?
15:18 I will a ryse/ and goo to my father/ ād will saye vnto hym: father/ I have synned agaynst heven/ and before the: I will aryse/ & goo to my father & will saye vnto him: father/ I have synned agaynst heven & before ye/ I will aryse/ and go to my father and will saye vnto him: father/ I haue synned agaynst heuen and before the/ I wil get vp, and go to my father, and saye vnto him: Father, I haue synned agaynst heauen and before the,
15:19 nowe ā I not worthy to be called thy sonne/ make me as one of thy heyred servauntſ. & am no moare worthy to be called thy sonne/ make me as one of thy hyred servauntes. & am no moare worthy to be called thy sonne/ make me as one of thy hyred seruaūtes. and am nomore worthy to be called thy sonne, make me as one of thy hyred seruauntes.
15:20 And he arose/ and cam to his father. When he was yett a greate waye of/ his father sawe hym/ and had compassion on hym/ and ran vnto him/ and fell on his necke/ and kyssed hym. And he arose & went to his father. And when he was yet agreate waye of/ his father sawe him & had compassion/ and ran & fell on his necke/ & kyssed him. And he arose and went to his father. And when he was yet agreate waye of/ his father sawe him and had compassion/ & ran and fell on his necke and kissed him. And he gat him vp, & came vnto his father. But whan he was yet a greate waye of, his father sawe him, and had cōpassion, and ranne, and fell aboute his neck, and kyssed him.
15:21 And the sōne sayd vnto hym: father I have synned agaynst hevē/ and in thy sight/ nether am I worthy hence forthe to be called thy sonne. And the sonne sayd vnto him: father/ I have synned agaynst heven/ & in thy sight/ & am no moare worthy to be called thy sonne. And the sonne sayd vnto him: father/ I haue synned agaynst heuen/ & in thy syght & am no moare worthy to be called thy sonne. Then sayde the sonne vnto him: Father, I haue synned agaynst heauē, and before the, I am no more worthy to be called thy sonne.
15:22 Then sayde the father to his servauntſ: brīge forth that best garment/ and put it on hym/ and put a rynge on his hōde/ and shewes on his fete. But his father sayde to his servaūtes: bringe forth that best garment and put it on him/ and put a rynge on his honde/ & showes on his fete. But his father sayde to his seruauntes: bringe forth that best garment and put it on him/ and put a rynge on his honde/ and showes on his fete. But the father sayde vnto his seruauntes: Brynge forth the best garment, and put it vpon him, and geue him a rynge vpon his hande, and shues on his fete,
15:23 And brynge hidder that fatted caulfe/ and kyll hym/ and let vs eate and be mery: And bringe hidder that fatted caulfe/ and kyll him/ and let vs eate & be mery: And bringe hydder that fatted caulfe and kyll him/ and let vs eate and be mery: and brynge hither a fed calfe, and kyll it, lat vs eate and be mery:
15:24 for this my sonne was deed/ and is alive agayne. He was loste/ and ys nowe founde. And they began to make goode cheare. for this my sonne was deed/ and is alyve agayne/ he was loste/ and is now founde. And they began to be merye. for this my sonne was deed/ & is alyue agayne/ he was loste/ and is now founde. And they began to be merye. for this my sonne was deed, and is alyue agayne: he was lost, and is founde. And they beganne to be mery.
15:25 The elder brother was ī the felde/ and whē he cā and drewe nye to the housse/ he herde minstrelcy/ and daunsynge/ The elder brother was in the felde/ & when he cam & drewe nye to ye housse/ he herde minstrelcy and daunsynge/ The elder brother was in the felde/ and when he came and drewe nye to the housse/ he herde minstrelcy and daunsynge/ But the elder sonne was in the felde. 15:26 and called one of his servauntſ/ and axed what thoose thynges meante. & called one of his servauntes/ & axed what thoose thinges meāte. & called one of his seruauntes/ and axed what those thinges meante. and called one of the seruauntes vnto him, and axed what it was.
15:27 He said vnto hī: thy brother is come/ and thy father hath killed the fatted caulfe/ be cause he hath receaved him safe and soūde. And he sayd vnto him: thy brother is come/ & thy father had kylled ye fatted caulfe/ because he hath receaved him safe & sounde. And he saye vnto him: thy brother is come/ & thy father had kylled the fatted caulfe/ because he hath receaued him safe and sounde. He sayde vnto him: Thy brother is come, and thy father hath slayne a fed calfe, because he hath receaued him safe and sounde.
15:28 And he was angry/ and wolde not goo in. Then cam his father out/ and entreated hī/ And he was angry/ and wolde not goo in. Then came his father out/ & entreated him. And he was angry/ and wolde not go in. Then came his father out and entreated him. Then was he angrie, and wolde not go in. Then wente his father out, and prayed him.
15:29 he answered and sayde to hys father: Loo these many yeares have I done the service/ nether brake at eny time thy cōmaundmēt/ and yet gavest thou me never soo moche as a kyd to make mery with my lovers: He answered & sayde to his father: Loo these many yeares have I done the service/ nether brake at eny tyme thy commaundment/ & yet gavest thou me never soo moche as a kyd to make mery wt my lovers: He answered and sayde to his father: Lo these many yeares haue I done the seruice/ nether brake at eny tyme thy commaundment/ & yet gauest thou me neuer so moche as a kyd to make mery with my louers: But he answered, and sayde vnto his father: Lo, thus many yeares haue I done the seruyce, nether haue I yet broken thy commaundement, and thou gauest me neuer one kydd, yt I might make mery with my frendes.
15:30 but as sone as this thy sonne was come/ which hath devoured thy goodes wyth harloottes/ thou haste for his pleasure killed the fatted caulfe. but assone as this thy sonne was come/ which hath devoured thy goodes with harlootes/ thou haste for his pleasure kylled ye fatted caulfe. but assone as this thy sonne was come/ which hath deuoured thy goodes with harlotes/ thou haste for his pleasure kylled the fatted caulfe. But now that this thy sonne is come, which deuoured his goodes with harlottes, thou hast slayne a fed calfe.
15:31 And he sayd vnto hī: Sōne/ thou wast ever with me/ and all that I have is thine: And he sayd vnto him: Sonne/ thou wast ever with me/ and all that I have/ is thyne: And he sayd vnto him: Sonne/ thou wast euer with me/ and all that I haue is thyne: But he sayde vnto him: My sonne, thou art allwaye with me, and all that is myne, is thine:
15:32 it was mete that we shulde make mery ād be glad: for this thy brother was deed/ and is alive agayne: ād was loste/ and is founde. it was mete that we shuld make mery and be glad: for this thy brother was deed/ and is a lyve agayne: and was loste/ and is founde. it was mete that we shuld make mery and be glad: for this thy brother was deed/ & is alyue agayne: and was loste/ and is founde. thou shuldest be mery and glad, for this yi brother was deed, and is alyue agayne: he was lost, and is founde agayne.
