11:1 A Certayne man was sicke/ named Lazarus of Bethania the toune off Mary ād her sister Martha. A Certayne man was sicke/ named Lazarus of Bethania the toune of Mary & her sister Martha. 11:2 It was that Mary which annoynted Iesus with oyntment/ and wept his fete with her heere/ whose brother Lazarus was sicke/ It was that Mary which annoynted Iesus with oyntment/ and wyped his fete with her heere/ whose brother Lazarus was sicke/ It was that Mary which annoynted Iesus with oyntment & wyped his fete with her heere/ whose brother Lazarus was sicke/ It was yt Mary which anoynted ye LORDE wt oyntment, & dryed his fete wt hir heer, whose brother Lazarus laye sicke.)
11:3 and his sister sent vnto hym sayinge: Lorde beholde/ he whō thou lovest is sicke. and his sisters sent vnto him sayinge. Lorde behold/ he whom thou lovest/ is sicke. and his systers sent vnto him sayinge. Lorde behold/ he whom thou louest/ is sicke. Thē sent his sisters vnto hī, & sayde: LORDE, beholde, he whō thou louest lyeth sicke.
11:4 Whē Iesus that herde he sayd: this īfirmite is not vnto deth But for the laude of god/ that the sonne off god myght be praysed by the reason of it. When Iesus hearde yt/ he sayd: this infirmite is not vnto deth/ but for ye laude of God/ that the sonne of God myght be praysed by the reason of it. When Iesus hearde that/ he sayd: this infirmite is not vnto deth/ but for the laude of God/ that the sonne of God myght be praysed by the reason of it. Whā Iesus herde that, he sayde: This sicknesse is not vnto death, but for the prayse of God, yt the sonne of God maye be praysed there thorow.
11:5 Iesus loved Martha and her sister/ and Lazarus. Iesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. Iesus loued Martha and her syster and Lazarus. Iesus loued Martha & hir sister, & Lazarus.
11:6 After he herde thatt he was sicke/ then aboode he two dayes still in the same place where he was. Then after he had hearde that he was sicke/ yet aboode he two dayes styll in the same place where he was. Now whā he herde that he was sicke, he abode two dayes in ye place where he was.

11:8 His disciples sayde vnto hym: Master/ the iewes lately sought meanes to stone the: and wilt thou goo thither agayne? His disciples sayde vnto him. 11:9 Iesus answered: are there not twelve houres in the daye? Yf a mā walke ī the daye he stōbleth not/ because he seith the light of this worlde. Iesus answered: are ther not twelve houres in ye daye? Yf a man walke in ye daye/ he stombleth not/ because he seith the lyght of this worlde. Iesus answered/ are ther not twelue houres in the daye? He yt walketh in the daye, stombleth not, for he seyeth ye light of this worlde.
11:10 yf a mā walke in the nyght he stombleth/ be cause there is no light in hym. But yf a mā walke in ye nyght/ he stombleth/ because ther is no lyght in him. But yf a man walke in the nyght/ he stombleth/ because ther is no lyght in him. But he that walketh in the night, stōbleth: for there is no light in him.
11:11 This sayd he. And after that he sayde vnto thē: oure frende Lazarus slepeth/ but I goo to wake hym outt of slepe. This sayde he/ & after yt/ he sayde vnto thē: oure frende Lazarus slepeth/ but I goo to wake him out of slepe. 11:13 Iesus spake of his deeth: but they thought that he hat spoken of the naturall slepe. How be it Iesus spake of his deeth: but they thought yt he had spokē of ye naturall slepe. Howbeit Iesus spake of his deeth: but they thought that he had spoken of the naturall slepe. (Howbe yt Iesus spake of his death but they thought yt he had spokē of ye bodely slepe.)
11:14 Thē sayde Iesus vnto them playnly/ Lazarus is deed/ Then sayde Iesus vnto thē playnly/ Lazarus is deed/ Then sayde Iesus vnto them playnly/ Lazarus is deed/ Thē sayde Iesus vnto thē planely: Lazarus is deed,
11:15 and I am gladde for youre sakes/ that I was not there/ be cause ye maye beleve. Neverthelesse let vs goo vnto hym. & I am glad for youre sakes/ yt I was not there/ because ye maye beleve. 11:16 Then sayde Thomas (which is called Didimus) vnto the disciples: let vs also goo/ that we maye deye with hī. 11:17 Then wēt Iesus/ and founde/ that he had lyne ī his grave foure dayes alredy. Then went Iesus/ and founde/ that he had lyne in his grave foure dayes already. 11:18 Bethani was neye vnto Ierusalem/ aboute .xv. furlongſ of/ Bethanie was nye vnto Ierusalem/ aboute .xv. furlonges of/ Bethanie was nye vnto Ierusalem/ aboute .xv. furlonges of/ Bethanye was nye vnto Ierusalē, aboute fiftene furlōges.
11:19 And many of the iewes cam to Martha ād Mary/ to conforte them over their brother. and many of the Iewes were come to Martha and Mary/ to comforte them over their brother. and many of the Iewes were come to Martha and Mary to comforte thē ouer their brother. 11:20 Martha as sone as she herde that Iesus was cōmynge/ went/ and met hym. Mary sate stille at home. Martha assone as she hearde yt Iesus was comynge/ went and met him: but Mary sate still in the housse. 11:21 Then sayde Martha vnto Iesus: Lorde yff thou haddest bene her/ my brother had not bene deed: Then sayde Martha vnto Iesus: Lorde yf thou haddest bene here/ my brother had not bene deed: Then sayde Martha vnto Iesus: Lorde yf thou haddest bene here/ my brother had not bene deed: Thē sayde Martha vnto Iesus: LORDE, yf thou haddest bene here, my brother had not bene deed.
11:22 but neverthelesse/ I knowe that whatsoever thou axest of God/ God will geve it the. but neverthelesse/ I knowe that whatsoever thou axest of God/ God will geve it the. but neuerthelesse/ I knowe that whatsoeuer thou axest of God/ God will geue it the. 11:26 and whosoever liveth/ and beleveth on me/ shall never deye. Belevest thou this? And whosoever lyveth and belevest on me/ shall never dye. Beleveth thou this? And whosoeuer lyueth & beleueth on me/ shall neuer dye. Beleuest thou this? & whosoeuer lyueth and beleueth on me, shal neuer dye. Beleuest thou this?
11:27 She sayde vnto hym: ye lorde: I beleve thatt thou arte Christ the sonne off God/ which shall come in to the worlde. She sayde vnto him: ye Lorde/ I beleve that thou arte Christ the sonne of god which shuld come into the worlde. 11:28 And as sone as she soo had sayde she went her waye/ and called her sister secretly sayinge: The master is come and calleth for the. 11:32 Then when Mary was come/ where Iesus was and sawe hym she fell doune at his fete/ sayinge vnto hym: Lorde if thou haddest bene here/ my brother had not bene deed. 11:33 When Iesus sawe her wepe/ and the iewes also wepe/ whych cam with her. He groned in his spret/ and vexed hym silfe When Iesus sawe her wepe/ & ye Iewes also wepe/ which came wt her/ he groned in ye sprete/ & was troubled in him selfe When Iesus sawe her wepe/ and the Iewes also wepe/ which came with her/ he groned in the sprete/ & was troubled in him selfe Whā Iesus sawe her wepe, & the Iewes wepinge also yt came wt her, he groned in the sprete, & was sory wt in himself,
11:34 and sayde: Where have ye layed hym? They sayde vnto hym: Lorde come and se. & sayde: Where have ye layed him? They sayde vnto him: Lorde come & se. and sayde: Where haue ye layed him? They sayde vnto him: Lorde come and se. & sayde: Where haue ye layed him? They sayde: LORDE come, & se it.
11:35 And Iesus wept. And Iesus wept. And Iesus wept. And Iesus wepte.
11:36 Then sayde the iewes: Beholde howe he loved hym. Then sayde the Iewes: Beholde howe he loved him. Then sayde the Iewes: Beholde howe he loued him. Then sayde ye Iewes: Beholde how he loued him.
11:37 Some off them sayde: Coulde not he which openned the eyes of the blynde/ have made also/ that this man shulde not have deyed? 11:38 Iesus agayne gronynge in hym silfe cam to the grave/ it was a cave/ and a stone layde on it. Iesus agayne groned in him selfe/ & came to the grave. It was a caue/ & a stone layde on it. 11:39 Iesus sayd: Take ye awaye the stone. Martha (the sister of hym that was deed) sayde vnto hī: Lorde by this tyme he stenketh. For he had bene deed foure dayes. 11:40 Iesus sayde vnto her: Sayde I not vnto the/ that if thou diddest beleve/ thou shuldest se the glory of God. 11:41 Then they toke awaye the stone from the place where the deed was layde. Iesus lifte vppe his eyes ād sayd: Father I geve the thankſ be cause that thou hast herde me/ Then they toke awaye ye stone from ye place where the deed was layde. 11:42 I knewe wele that thou hearest me all wayes: but because of the people that stōde by I sayde it/ that they myght beleve/ that thou hast sent me. 11:44 ād he that was deed cam forth bounde hand ād fote/ with bondes after the manner as they were wonte to bynde their deed with all. And his face was boūde with a napkyn. Iesus sayde vnto theē: loowse him/ and let him goo. And he that was deed/ came forth/ bounde hand and fote with grauebondes/ & his face was bounde with a napkin. Iesus sayde vnto them: loowse him/ & let him go. And ye deed came forth bounde hande & fote wt graue clothes, & his face bounde wt a napkyn. Iesus sayde vnto thē: Lowse him, & let him go.
11:45 Then many of the Iewes which cam to Mary/ ād had sene the thyngſ which Iesus did/ beleved on hym. Many now of ye Iewes which mere come vnto Mary, and sawe what Iesus dyd, beleued on him.

11:50 nor yett consider that it is expedient for vs/ that won mā deye for the people/ and nott that all the people perisshe. nor yet consider that it is expedient for vs/ that one man dye for the people/ & not that all the people perisshe. nor yet consyder that it is expedient for vs/ that one man dye for the people/ and not that all the people perisshe. nether considre ye eny thinge at all. It is better for us that one mā dye for the people, then that all the people shulde perishe.
11:51 This spake he nott of hym silfe: butt beynge hye preste that same yeare/ prophesied he that Iesus shulde deye for the people/ This spake he not of him selfe/ but beinge hye preste that same yeare/ he prophesied that Iesus shulde dye for the people/ This spake he not of him selfe/ but beinge hye Preste that same yeare/ he prophesied that Iesus shulde dye for the people/ This spake he not of himself, but for so moch as he was hye prest of the same yeare, he prophecied. 11:55 The iewes ester was neye att hond/ and many went out of the countre vppe to Ierusalem before the ester to purify them selves.
